I volunteered at a summer church camp and worked with a large group of children, escorting them through activities and helping with whatever they needed.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I almost always bring paints, puzzles or some other kind of craft for them to do, sometimes it's baking, sometimes its glitter slime. When weather is good we play outside; I've brought chalk, water balloons and little squirt guns, and lots of other things for those activities as well.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part of being a nanny is the kids. Most children are fairly young when they have a babysitter and that means they are growing a lot. It's important at this age for them to experience lots of things, learn motor skills, and just in general have plenty of opportunity to grow.
My experience with special needs children...
I have worked with a special needs child before at a summer camp. He simply needed extra attention and a little more help. I do not have special needs training but I'm patient and understanding and am happy to learn to work with anyone.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The best moments are when we make up our own game or I show them one they haven't done before. They get so excited and I just love watching them trying new things and having fun.
