A little bit about me

I've babysat for about 5-6 years, and I am in studies to be a teacher, certified in elementary education, Special Education and Rehabilitation Psychology and Spanish. I am more than willing to be CPR and first aid certified (I was first-aid certified as a mountain biking coach, but I believe that certification may have expired, so I said no out of caution.) I adore kids, I love to play, we always set plans before mom/dad/caregiver leave for work and lay out needs for meal times, nap times, school work or reading goals, and so on. But, I always ensure we play outside, play inside, keep peace between siblings or work out problems, and limit TV/movie time to parental requirements. I always love to read with my kiddos, play games, and get creative. I will never leave the house dirty, I always do dishes, sweep and vacuum, and mop whenever I can so parents and caregivers can come home to a clean house, fed and napped kids and homework done!

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I participated in a science focused student teaching internship, and have my bachelor's degree in an education field, received May of 2022.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love to include little ones in cooking and baking for fun and for the family, playing outside when the weather is safe to do so, playing hide and seek, reading, writing, drawing, and doing arts and crafts! I am always a fan of helping with homework and playing theater, but my biggest goal is always making safe and fun memories. I never mind the clean up or the preparation that goes in, because making a little one's eyes light up, and making sure mom and dad can come home and breathe easy is always the best part for me.

My experience with special needs children...

I have limited special needs experience, but my previous family had a child who was required to wear her back brace at different periods to help her heal from childhood cancer, and I was to help her put the brace on and take it off even when she was desperate not to wear the brace. I was also to keep an eye out for when she was in pain or when she was exhibiting behaviors and symptoms that suggested she needed the brace on for any period of time. I also kept track of time in the brace for the parents so they could keep their records up to date for the doctor when they needed to.
