Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I was previously an RN ,nearly died during covid and couldn't physically maintain it anymore in the ER so I went to PEDS and loved ot more than ever. Specializing in disabled and mentally and socially challenged kids as well as deaf children. I also helped raise several foster children that were troubled and very much enjoyed helping enrich their lives.

Be present and enrich their lives. Teach them instead of electronic babysitters. And LISTEN everyone is different and everyone has a voice. Above all SAFETY.
My experience with special needs children...
Worked in the ER PEDS. I'm fairly well versed in sign language and very well versed in kids with autism and other physical,mental and social disabilities.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I have horses and I let a few different kids ride as long as they first learned safety rules. Kids that wouldn't speak for months finally spoke when getting to interact with my dogs and horses,which are all wonderful with children. From then on the child began to speak and I learned how to better help him.
