Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I worked as a Kids Club Coach at a Country Club where I did fun activities with children and planned different events for this center. I was a preschool teacher for almost two years and this was such an amazing time. At the preschool, I worked with children that were infants to school age. I have been a summer nanny for many different families. I volunteered at a battered women's shelter where I ran a children's support group. I was a Big Sister for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ozaukee County. I also volunteered as a tutor during college for the Milwaukee Rescue Mission. My most recent experience was working as a live-in nanny for a year in Hawaii. I am more than happy to answer any further questions about my experiences.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
A lot of the activities I liked to do with them was take them swimming, to the parks, to the museum, and to the zoo! I also love to take them on walks and to the beach! When we would need to stay inside, Hide-and-Seek is always my favorite! I also am incredibly into art, so I love to paint, draw, and do different crafts with the children I have interacted with. I always love to make pillow forts and make obstacles.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Being a nanny is so important to me because you make such a positive impact on a child's life. Being able to see the way a child grows and changes as you are with them for longer periods of time is such a special thing. I also think that being a positive role model for the children I nanny is extremely important because it helps promote overall positive child development.
My experience with special needs children...
I have experience working with children that were introduced to drugs and alcohol during pregnancy. I also have worked with autistic children.
