More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have several years of experience working with children in different settings and with a wide range of needs. I worked at a church for four years, where I cared for children of all ages and regularly supported kids with special needs. That role taught me how to adapt to different personalities, age groups, and situations while creating a safe and nurturing environment. I also worked at a daycare, which came with its own set of responsibilities and challenges, caring for many children at once and learning how to manage routines, behaviors, and developmental differences. In addition, I volunteered in a special needs classroom where I worked closely with nonverbal children, helping support communication, daily activities, and emotional needs. All of these experiences have shaped me into a patient, flexible, and attentive caregiver who is comfortable working with diverse children and families.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I enjoy planning a mix of indoor and outdoor activities that are fun, engaging, and supportive of each child’s development. Indoors, I like doing arts and crafts, sensory play, reading books together, imaginative play, and simple learning activities like puzzles, games, or practicing letters and numbers in creative ways. I also enjoy incorporating music, dancing, and calm routines like story time or quiet play to help kids reset.
Outdoors, I love taking kids to the park, going on nature walks, playing games that encourage movement, blowing bubbles, drawing with sidewalk chalk, and letting them explore safely through free play. I also enjoy turning everyday outdoor time into learning moments, like spotting animals, collecting leaves, or practicing social skills at the playground. Overall, I aim to balance structure and fun while creating activities that help kids feel happy, confident, and excited to learn.

The most important part about being a nanny...
What matters most to me about being a nanny is the trust and connection that comes with caring for a child during such important stages of their life. I value creating a safe, loving, and consistent environment where a child feels seen, heard, and supported. Being a nanny isn’t just about supervising, it’s about helping shape emotional growth, encouraging curiosity, and teaching kindness, confidence, and respect through everyday moments. I care deeply about partnering with parents, respecting their values and routines, and being someone they can rely on. Knowing that I can positively impact a child’s sense of security and help them grow into who they’re becoming is what makes being a nanny so meaningful to me.
My experience with special needs children...
My experience with special needs children is very personal and meaningful to me. I volunteered at a special needs school where I worked closely with nonverbal kids, supporting them through daily routines, communication methods, and emotional regulation with patience and care. That experience taught me how important consistency, adaptability, and calm presence are, especially when communication looks different. On a more personal level, my little brother is special needs, so this isn’t just something I’ve learned in a classroom, it’s part of my everyday life and my heart. Because of that, I approach every child with empathy, attentiveness, and respect for their individual needs, strengths, and ways of expressing themselves. I truly value creating a safe, supportive environment where every child feels understood and accepted.
The most important part about being a nanny...
One of my favorite memorable moments as a nanny happened during a completely ordinary day that turned hilarious and sweet. One of my kids very seriously told me they needed to “have a meeting” with me. They sat me down, crossed their arms like a tiny boss, and explained that they were upset because I cut their sandwich “the wrong way” and that next time I needed to “check the vibe first.” I had to hold back laughter while apologizing professionally to a four-year-old. A few minutes later, they hugged me and said, “It’s okay, you’re still my best grown-up.”Moments like that stick with me because they’re such a reminder of how honest, funny, and big-hearted kids are. Those silly, unplanned interactions are just as meaningful as the routines and responsibilities. They show the trust, comfort, and bond you build together, and they’re a big reason why I love being a nanny.
