A little bit about me

My name is Maddie and I’m 19 years old. I am currently a nanny and student. I'm a freshman majoring in psych to eventually work as a child therapist! My hobbies include talking my puppy (Bruno Marrs!) for walks on nature trails, cooking, reading, and helping others! I volunteer for a crisis text-hotline center as well as a hospice organization.

Over the last 6 years I have babysat kiddos for over a dozen families ages 4mos-12 years. I have experience babysitting up to 6 kiddos at once. I’ve done both occasional and reoccurring babysitting. I have experience with soft food/bottle feeding, diapers, bathtime, bedtime, driving, potty training, and supervising in public places. I’m comfortable cooking and cleaning for kiddos! I currently nanny 2-3 kids ages 4, 5 and 6. My favorite thing to do with them is to bring over/find recycled materials and come up with craft ideas that reflect their interests.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

My favorite thing I love doing while babysitting is finding/creating craft ideas. I love to bring craft supplies, use supplies already at the home, and use recycling to create fun and new crafts that reflect the kid’s age and interests. I also love going out and about with my nanny kiddos. Some places we’ve loved going include the hands on museum, the library and the movie theater!

The most important part of being a nanny is being a safe place for kiddos who are learning to deal with big emotions.

My experience with special needs children...

Throughout middle and high school I gained experience working with children that have special needs by helping in special Ed classrooms. I provided friendship, assistance and care depending on the needs of the individual. I also have experience babysitting children on the spectrum. I’m fairly comfortable with it and open to learning!
