Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
In high school I volunteered both in tutoring and mentorship programs while working part time at a YMCA after school program and babysitting. In 2017 I worked at YMCA Camp Conistion in Croydon, New Hampshire as a Summer Camp Counselor. The following summer I was a live-in Au-pair for a family of four in Sicily, Italy. Summer 2019 I worked as a Resident Assistant for John Hopkins Center for Talented Youth in Bristol, Rhode Island where I primarily worked with children aged 10-12.
Additionally, I worked as a Resident Assistant at Salem State University from [phone number hidden] in Salem, Massachusetts. Though it is not childcare in a traditional sense, I worked with college freshmen making the transition from high school to young adulthood.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love celebrating mess! Anything from finger-painting to science experiments to sensory bins, if it is something they can explore- I am all about it! I think its important for children to experience the world hands-on albeit in a safe space.
When I nannied in New Hampshire we went on little adventures nearly every day to hike waterfalls or go painting in the park or exploring botanical gardens or trekking through bog walks and things of the sort. We would have picnics most days and read The Land of Stories by Chris Colfer.
Though I do not have a Lifegaurd certification I am a very strong swimmer and I have helped teach children how to swim. I am very comfortable in the water and though my certifications have lapsed due to COVID, I have previously held CPR and First Aide/Wilderness First Aide certifications.

I have the most experience with ASD and Down Syndrome though I have worked with children who had a wide variety of physical and cognitive abilities.
