Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have worked at a daycare for almost a year as a teachers assistant and babysat for nieces and nephews for extended periods of time. I have worked 2 night jobs with younger school aged children, so I have no issues doing overnight shifts if needed. I previously worked for a 2 year old and 7 year old and I have been with my current family for almost 4 years and would love to find something long term as well
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Playing in the pool, slip and slide or sprinkler. Playing on trampoline. Coloring, painting, crafts. Singing and dancing. Anything fun and carefree! I truly am a kid at heart and love playing games and acting silly with the kiddos.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Keeping the children safe, educated, and happy! As a nanny my number 1 priority other than your children's happiness is keeping your children safe. I try my hardest to be aware of our surroundings at all times ensuring there are no hazards or dangerous items near or within reach. I do believe that happiness and education go hand in hand. As a child grows their knowledge and skills, they gain confidence and excitement over those new skills. I thrive to keep children happy and fulfilled as that's when they feel their best!
My experience with special needs children...
Although I have not cared for a child with special needs professionally, I have cared for my nephew his whole life. My nephew has epilepsy as well as autism. I have experience with strong emotions and administering medication. My nephew is 9 years old now and I have been helping care for him since he was an infant as my sister lived with us until he was 5 years old.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite moments as a nanny are definitely any moments in which I can make my kiddos smile and laugh. It brings so much joy hearing them do big belly laughs!
