Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I was a kids camp leader at a resort. I would sometimes be caring for up to 25 children at a time, from ages 4-12. I took them on hikes, pontoon rides, berry picking, played games, did crafts, had bonfires, swam, etc. And I could transfer all the fun activities I learned into the family I work with!
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Walks, going to parks, swimming, trampoline jumping, crafts, painting, singing, kids movies, playing with toys/dolls, board games, video games, kids improv, baking, etc.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I think the most important thing about being a nanny is being present and treating your little people like equals. I am very patient and respectful to the children I work with. Children are much smarter than I feel people often give them credit for.
My experience with special needs children...
I do not have much experience with children that have special needs, but I am a fast-learner and very patient and kind.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite moment working with kids was when at the end of camp, the kids would always want to come find me before they left the resort and say goodbye. Bitter sweet, but I do have one adorable girl who emails me from time to time about pets, toys, shows, and just asks me funny/random questions. It's just really cool to see the impact you can have on a child's life, even in such a short amount of time.
