A little bit about me

Hi! I'm a college student from Venice, Los Angeles! I am studying psychology and want to go into Occupational therapy. I go to Pitzer and am currently living in Claremont for the summer while taking classes and volunteering. I'm looking for part-time babysitting opportunities and would love to support your family however I can!
I'm new to paid childcare, but I have years of hands-on experience working with children in a variety of settings. I've been a camp counselor, volunteered at a preschool, and worked in pediatric. therapy clinics with kids aged 2–10. These experiences have taught me how to connect with children of different ages and needs, and I love to build close relationships with the kids I care for.
I have a car and am happy to help with school pick-up and drop-off, errands, or any additional support you might need.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I worked as a camp counselor at my local rec center. I led a large group (10+) of kids through daily activities like art, waterplay, and sports. My responsibilities included facilitating pick up and drop off, ensuring safety in the pool, and reporting and taking care of injuries.

At Pitzer, I worked at a local preschool in Montclair through the Jumpstart early intervention program. I went into a preschool twice a week and worked with the kids on reading comprehension and writing. I also played with them on the playground, led storytimes, and created arts and crafts projects for them.

Last summer, I worked at a Pediatric therapy clinic with Occupational therapists, speech therapists, and social workers. I aided in their therapeutic groups of 5 or 6 children, mostly aged 2-3 years. I learned so much about how to better support kids social, emotional, and motor skills in a clinical setting.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Any type of play! I love arts and crafts, storytelling, building with blocks and LEGOs, sensory play with sand, play doh, etc...

I also love to play outdoors, at the playground or the park!

My experience with special needs children...

My younger brother Alex is developmentally disabled, and growing up with him has been one of the biggest influences on my life. He’s truly my best friend and the reason I want to become an occupational therapist who works with children with special needs.
Over the years, I’ve worked closely alongside his therapists and have helped support him in daily routines, including using his communication device (an iPad). These experiences have taught me a great deal about patience, flexibility, and the importance of individualized support. I’m very aware of the extra energy, attention, and care that children with special needs require, and I understand the toll it can take on families. I am someone you can trust to make sure your child gets the support they need and deserve.
