A little bit about me

I have many years of experience babysitting and I nannied for a little girl from newborn to just over a year. I am engaged to a wonderful man and we are moving to Broad Ripple with our 2 dogs, Stevie and Bowie, and cat, Binks. I have some experience working at a daycare in ages 6 weeks-3 years old. I would prefer to be with a family long-term as I truly enjoy watching my kids grow up. I firmly believe in gentle parenting and I always keep an open line of communication between myself, the child, and the parents. More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I was a daycare worker for a short amount of time, dealing with infants all the way up to preschool age. I enjoyed the job, but I found I prefer more one-on-one childcare experience.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love doing Arts and Crafts activities, as well as any sort of Sensory or Science activities. I am very adept at English and Math and could definitely find ways to make those fun. Experiences are necessary to a child's development, and so park and museum trips are a must!

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part of being a nanny is earning a family's trust. Although a good portion of my job is keeping a child cared for and entertained, another aspect is ensuring timely development of cognitive assets. Learning is very important to the development of children, in both an academic sense and an emotional sense.

My experience with special needs children...

I worked for a few months at a local Boys and Girls Club with a young girl who was Autistic. I really enjoyed working with her and discovering her quirks and likes and dislikes.

The most important part about being a nanny...

For my little girl's birthday, I took her to a local park to swing and play in the sandbox and splash pad for about an hour. Afterwards, we went to Steak n Shake to get a Birthday Cake milkshake and went back home to watch Blue's Clues and take a long nap. She was so happy and just had the best day.
