Hi there! I’m Makayla, and I’m 25 years old with a have a strong passion for working with children. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and am certified in Mental Health First Aid, which allows me to provide a safe, patient, and understanding environment for kids of all ages. I currently work full-time in Human Resources and finish my day at 4 PM, so I’m available for evening care during the week as well as on weekends. While I haven’t worked as a professional nanny yet, I do have hands-on experience caring for children through helping with my two nieces and nephew. I’ve been actively involved in their lives from infancy through early school years—helping with feedings, bedtime routines, playtime, and school prep. Spending time with them has shown me how much I enjoy being around children and supporting their growth and development. Combined with my background in psychology and Mental Health First Aid certification, I feel well-prepared to provide a safe, patient, and nurturing environment. I really enjoy doing a mix of fun and educational activities with children, depending on their age and interests. For younger kids, I love reading books together, doing simple crafts like finger painting or paper plate art, and playing interactive games like “Simon Says” or singing songs with movement. With older children, I enjoy things like board games, baking, scavenger hunts, and creative projects like making bracelets or building with LEGO. I also like incorporating outdoor time when possible—whether it’s a nature walk, a game of tag, or just blowing bubbles in the yard. I think it’s important to keep things engaging while also supporting their learning, creativity, and development.
