My first childcare experience was volunteering at my church’s summer camp, where I discovered how much I enjoy working with children. Since I was 18, I’ve worked extensively as a summer camp counselor, supervising children, organizing activities, and creating a safe and welcoming environment. I’ve also been caring for the same little girl for the past three years, building a strong, trusting relationship with her and her family. Alongside these experiences, I’ve taken on babysitting jobs for other families throughout the years. These roles have taught me the importance of patience, consistency, creativity, and open communication with parents.

I love hands-on activities that give children opportunities to learn, explore, and have fun! I enjoy arts and crafts, board games, imaginative play, reading stories, and spending time outdoors. I like adapting activities to each child’s age and interests, encouraging their creativity and curiosity. I value keeping children active and engaged through meaningful play while respecting each family’s preferences and routines around screen time.
The most important part about being a nanny...
To me, the most important part of being a nanny is making children feel safe, loved, and understood while having a positive impact on their lives. I grew up with a nanny who was an important part of my childhood, so I know firsthand how meaningful that relationship can be. Her care has stayed with me, and it inspires the kind of nanny I strive to be. Whether I’m listening to a story, comforting a child through a difficult moment, or celebrating a small achievement, I want them to know they can count on me. I also value working closely with parents so they feel confident that their children are receiving attentive, consistent, and loving care.
My experience with special needs children...
While I don’t have formal training or certification in special needs care, I have experience working with children with additional support needs through summer camp and babysitting. I have a strong interest in understanding and supporting neurodivergent children and have spent time educating myself about their individual needs. These experiences have helped me develop patience, flexibility, and confidence in adapting my approach to each child. I’m always willing to learn from parents and follow their guidance, and I would want to discuss each child’s needs openly to make sure my experience is a good fit.
The most important part about being a nanny...
One of my favorite nanny memories is from caring for two little boys I had built a wonderful bond with. When I went away for a two-week vacation, they missed me and wanted to FaceTime every day. Seeing their faces and staying connected made our time apart feel a little shorter. When I returned, their excitement to see me was something I’ll never forget. It reminded me how meaningful the everyday moments together can become. Knowing I had become someone they trusted and looked forward to seeing is one of the most rewarding feelings I’ve experienced as a nanny.
