A little bit about me

I am a mother of two young children myself, a 9yr. old son, and a 6yr. old daughter. I formally worked at my kids' elementary school working with Special Educated students for 2 yrs. The schedule was great, but the pay was not. It was challenging, but a great experience having worked with children with autism. I recently graduated with my Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, but do not wish to further my career choice in that field. I hope to help a family during school hours, but at a reasonable rate for the work I am capable of. I do like to clean and organize in my house, so I'm willing to help tidy up a home, if needed. My husband and I owned a bar together for about 10yrs, before our oldest began school. I dedicate my world to my kids, so I'm very understanding of parents who are in need of some help with kids and around the house! Available days M-Th, hours between 9am-2pm, but willing to be flexible up early evenings (4-5pm- at the latest).

My experience with special needs children...

I worked at my kids' elementary school for 2 years. I worked with a student in 3rd grade who had mobility issues in the classroom with writing, needing constant help with re-directing and following directions, and also having behavioral/emotional meltdowns. I continued to work with this student the following year in 4th grade, and academically has progressed and behavior was a working progress. While being with him, I also worked with another student who has a speech impediment, but is brilliant at Math, artistic in drawing, personable, fun to work with, and extremely empathetic. Unfortunately, I decided to leave the position, because the pay was too low for the work and dedication I provided the school.
