I enjoy doing a mix of active and calm activities depending on the child’s age and personality. Things like crafts, coloring, reading stories, baking simple recipes together, and outdoor play like walks or park time. I also like activities that help with development, like games that build communication, motor skills, or routines.

The most important part about being a nanny...
One of my favorite nanny/respite care moments was working with a child on the autism spectrum who was initially very reserved around new people. Over time, by keeping a consistent routine and being patient with his communication style, I started to see small breakthroughs, like him initiating interaction and feeling comfortable during activities he enjoyed. It was really meaningful to be part of that progress and to see trust build gradually.
