"Marina is hands down one of the best Early Childhood Educators I've worked with in my long career. Her curiosity about life leads the way in all she does. She follows the interests of the child, meets them where they are at, and gently guides them further in their imaginative exploration.
Marina was always very attentive to the emotional needs of the children in her care, She got down to their level and truly listened to their worries and offered them a warm lap to snuggle in if they needed. Alternatively she would celebrate their discoveries and their wins with great gusto and joy!!
Marina always arrived promptly and on time. It was rare for her to be late or ill. If she required a day off, she would always give advance notice so plans could be made easily to accommodate it.
Marina is amazing and would be a welcome gift to any family."

More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I started my career as an ECE with the YMCA of Greater Vancouver, then moved on to becoming a preschool teacher with Frog Hollow Neighbourhood House. Simultaneously, I started working as a seasonal outdoor educator at Fresh Air Learning, where I fell in love with forest school. I then became a teacher at Muddy Boot Prints - Early Learning Outside and have since purchased a license to operate. Vancouver chapter! I have also worked as an academic interventionist with school aged children with learning differences. I'm a mom of a grown child on the autism spectrum who is thriving at university.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Art, outdoor exploration, nature exploration, cooking, baking, reading, exploring interesting local places.
My experience with special needs children...
I have a Master of Professional Education degree in Teaching Students with Exceptionalities from Western University. I have extensive experience working with neurodivergent children in care settings, and in coordinating and working with teams of professionals. My approach is neuroaffirming (no behavioural approaches). I support children in being themselves and gently integrating them into groups of peers in a positive manner.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I have too many favourite moments to count over 8 years and they would take too long to write in 1000 words. If you would like to see if we are a match I would love to tell you some stories in person.
