hello!! i’m looking for a nanny job opposed to a daycare center because i enjoy the more one on one feel! i worked in daycare centers for almost 3 years but have been a babysitter/nanny throughout all 6 years of my experience. i’ve also worked for a church nursery, volunteered for VBS, and have taken kiddos to and from school. i love working with kids, establishing relationships with parents, and overall becoming a safe person for you and your family to turn to!

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

i enjoy interacting with kids and staying present, i like doing dance parties, coloring, imaginative play, tag, hide and seek, and i enjoy taking kids to museums or parks around town if that’s something you feel comfortable with!

My experience with special needs children...

i’ve worked with several kids (especially in the daycare) with several behavioral issues. i’ve heard a lot of stories from parents who say teachers/caregivers have given up on their child because they are “too hard” or “unmanageable” and i think that’s terrible for the parents and the child so i have always said and always will say i will be the adult that does not give up on your child.

The most important part about being a nanny...

i used to have a boy in my daycare class (preschool aged) that threw chairs, screamed, kicked, bit, and was overall seen as a “bad” kid. he got so unsafe in the classroom that he needed to be taken out anytime it got bad and i was the one told to take him out and sit with him. i really poured my heart and soul into working with this child, he had a rough home life and i knew that was a contributing factor. me and him very quickly became buddies and even after he graduated from preschool and went off to kindergarten i would take him to school every morning and watch him anytime i needed to. he currently lives about 4 hours away (i recently moved to GJ) but we facetime and he comes to visit! best success story to this day. his grandma says i’ve earned the “aunt” title but he still calls me miss. mary from daycare times haha!
