My name is Mary Kathryn, and I am a dedicated and experienced nanny passionate about fostering children’s growth and development. I recently moved from Austin, Texas, to Glenwood Springs, Colorado, and have an academic background including a degree in psychology and a minor in applied behavioral health from Texas A&M. I have proudly cared for a family for five years and had the pleasure in helping facilitate a nurturing and engaging environment.
Outside work, I enjoy spending time with my fiance and two dogs. I also like the outdoors, listening to podcasts, and painting in my spare time. I have a rich background in childcare, having worked for a family caring for their three children. Additionally, I assisted with their cousins on occasion, managing up to nine children simultaneously. My involvement extends beyond individual families, as I have contributed to the community by working with up to 10,000 children and organizing public programs for families. Witnessing children’s growth and development is a source of joy for me, making my role in childcare both rewarding and fulfilling.

My experience with special needs children...

I am enthusiastic about the opportunity to contribute to a family as a nanny! My four-year experience as a camp counselor, where I supported children with special needs, has equipped me with patience and adaptability. Additionally, having a cousin who is special needs and wheelchair-bound has given me firsthand insights into the unique requirements and the importance of personalized care. I’ve actively engaged in creating inclusive events, such as an Easter egg event tailored for children who are blind, showcasing my commitment to providing diverse and thoughtful experiences. I am dedicated to fostering a supportive and inclusive environment, tailoring my approach to meet the individual needs of each child under my care.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite nanny moment was learning about glitter and its innate ability to get anywhere and everywhere. When I was younger and having craft time with the two little girls I was nannying, they convinced me to get the glitter out of the craft closet. I obliged, and about 15 minutes later, there was glitter all over the floor, the table, and the two little girls. It took me about two hours to clean up, and to this day, I am not a major fan of glitter, but it is funny to look back and laugh at the pink sparkle explosion.
