I've always enjoyed working with children. I'm very patient and a great listener. I've worked at a hospital with newborns through adults. I've worked with autistic children as a Registered Behavior Technician. I volunteered at University Hospital in Aurora at the information desk, and at the BDC for Childhood Diabetes. In the past I've worked with families of one to four children. I adapt to various situations easily. I would be honored to assist in any way I can. I can work FT or PT. I'm fully vaccinated.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I've worked for a family caring for 4 children in the past. I occasionally have watched over children of friends in the past. I was an EMT in a hospital setting. I worked with autistic children in a center based setting. I currently drive for a charter high school and will monitor classes to assist when teachers are unavailable. I have previously volunteered at the BDC for childhood diabetes and also in a NICU helping to feed the babies.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I'm happy to participate in any activities the children enjoy. Outdoors, the park playground, playing catch (baseball or football), or flying a kite, for example. Indoors, playing with reusable clay, building with Legos, card games or educational toys. As long as it's enjoyable for the kids, I'm willing to participate and learn new things to do as well.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I was with a 6yo hockey goalie when at the end of the second period he was hit in the face mask by the puck. As he skated towards the locker room he signaled for me to meet him. I thought he may have been hurt and would need to leave. When he removed his mouth guard one of his teeth came out with it. As I was wrapping it in a hankie to save for the tooth fairy he grabbed the hankie and shoved it into the gap where his tooth had been. He then checked the hankie for blood. When he was satisfied that the bleeding had stopped, he handed me the hankie and put his mouth guard back in. He then went out for the 3rd period and completed his shutout. I've never forgotten the desire and dedication he showed in wanting to complete his personal goal of a shutout.
