I've volunteered to help the homeless, including helping feed and entertain children. I have taken care of my siblings, cooking for them and playing with them and spending quality time together. And while it is not caring for children, I have lots of experience with taking care of seniors and people who couldn't take care of themselves.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love playing games with children, whether that be videogames or board games is up to them! I also like reading with them, taking them to parks and outdoor areas when the weather permits it. Taking care of kids is more than just putting them in front of a screen, they need attention and love. I want to support their interests however I possibly can so they can feel understood and loved.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important thing about being a nanny is the having the capacity to understand, empathize, and support the children however I can. The world is filled with so much hate these days, the last thing I wanna do is perpetuate it all. I want the kids to know that there's still love in the world, that we can make changes for the better, enjoy what we love and make the most out of the time we have
My experience with special needs children...
Some of my friends have been on the Autism Spectrum. I grew up defending my best friend from bullies that would target him with hate because of this. It pains me to see so many special needs children misunderstood, they need patience and time that's all, just like any other kid out there.
The most important part about being a nanny...
When taking care of my siblings I would get to see them all laugh and smile as we would chase each other around the house and play games together. Some of my fondest memories are the times I spent with my younger siblings, I cherish good times. One time I got to show my little brother that lizards communicate through pushups by doing them in front of their lizard, and they talked back by doing push-ups as well!
