I once had the joy of nannying for a family with six children, aged 2 to 13. One afternoon, the youngest, who was just waking up from a nap, was feeling rather grumpy. Despite my attempts to engage him in play with his siblings, nothing seemed to lift his mood. So, while I prepared dinner, I let him be for a while. As luck would have it, I was making his favorite meal, lasagna. When he finally sat down to eat, he devoured it with gusto. Afterwards, as he got ready for his bath, he approached me with a big hug and apologized for being grumpy, attributing it to hunger. He then sweetly asked if we could be best friends again. That moment taught me the power of comfort food and the importance of patience and understanding. Lasagna will always hold a special place in my heart because of it.
