A little bit about me

Hello!
My name is Megan Blackmore, and I have been a nanny for the last eight years. I have worked with children as young as three-months-old to twelve-years of age.
I have always loved being with children. My mom ran her own daycare for a number of years, and when that career ending she found herself as a nanny too. So this must be where my passion has stemmed from.

I am currently twenty-five years old, and a graduate from Central Connecticut State University with a degree in English and Writing. I am a freelance editor and writer, as well as, founder of meganblackmore.com, a Christian blog that I own and run.

I am searching for a part-time position, so I can still continue my freelance work. However, my love for nannying is also a passion, and would love to continue to nanny while freelancing.

Any family I have worked with in the past, has become a part of my own, as I care deeply about each child.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I am the assistant director of the Adventurers Club at my church, where I teach children ranging from 3-11 years of age. This club is exactly like boy/girl scouts, but in a Christian setting.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I am huge on arts and crafts. Whether you have an infant or a child I believe arts and crafts are incredibly important. So anything from, painting, making hand/feet print artwork, etc.

I enjoy exploring any kind of art forms, so I would write stories, make music, etc. with the children I look after.

I am also big on being outdoors, whether it's playing sports, hiking, going for walks, going to the park, etc.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Is to provide the utmost care for the child.

My experience with special needs children...

I have not personally had a position working with a child with special needs. However, if I were to be in such a position I would be more than willing, and adept in caring for the child.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite nanny moment has to be when I was caring for a little guy who was born 3 months pre-mature. He was delayed in many areas, but that never slowed him down. My favorite moment has to be when I saw and witnessed his first steps, as when I first began working with him at 9-months old, he was not able to sit up on his own. However, about 9 months later I saw him walk. It was incredible.
