A little bit about me

My name is Megan and I have over 18 years of experience working with infants and children of all ages and in a variety of settings. Specifically, 10 of those years I have spent working as a career nanny. I also have my Bachelor’s degree in Child Development and my Master’s Degree in Clinical Social Work with my LCSW license! Your child(ren)’s safety is first priority and I am both First Aid and CPR certified. I also work with children with disabilities. I love children, I’m reliable, fun, energetic, engaging, flexible, trustworthy, patient, responsible, and loyal. I am hoping to work again with a long-term family. I am creative and Iike to keep the children active and engaged so I bring my nanny bag with me which contains crafts, games, books, and educational activities. More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

My relevant experience first began when working with children when I turned 12 and I quickly became the most requested babysitter in my community! From there, I worked for 2 years at a daycare center in Rexburg, Idaho. Following that, I moved to Salt Lake City and continued to nanny for 4 years while also volunteering with child care at The Road Home Homeless Shelter. I also volunteered with refugee children through a program at the University of Utah. Then, from [phone number hidden] I worked as a LCSW therapist specializing in children and families. In 2013 I had my own son, and since then, I have taken on part-time nannying jobs with families that have had between 1-10 children that are ages newborn-17 years old. My own family is also large and I have 25 nieces and nephews! So I have a lot of experience and I can promise you that I will do a wonderful job with your children and family! I am well qualified and can provide references!

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Each age group of children have their own needs and things I enjoy doing with them! I love the newborn cuddles to the learning activities with toddlers and preschoolers. I enjoy doing crafts, playing Barbie’s, Lego’s, wrestling, going for walks, playing at the park, and going to “play places”, for which I even have my own memberships to! I have worked with newborns - 17 year olds, so I can always find a way to connect with kids on their own level and have it be an enjoyable experience for all involved! I also enjoy music time with the little ones, providing and teaching educational lessons for children, helping each child reach their developmental milestones, as well as working on any other goals the family has set including potty training, and behavioral issues.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Is being able to be a part of a child’s life and development, ensuring the children’s happiness, safety, and well-being overall, and developing connections with families where they know they can count on you! And that is exactly why my schedule is flexible, so I can be there to help YOU!

My experience with special needs children...

I worked with RISE Behavioral services in 2010. I also worked with special needs children in therapy from [phone number hidden]. In addition, I have also nannied for special needs children periodically over the last six years of being a part-time nanny.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Was with a family of 8 children, ages ranging from 1-12, where their parents had to go out of town and needed my help over Halloween. I made sure to go all out so the kids didn’t feel lacking in anything! We did several Halloween events and we got so much candy that their buckets started to break! It was special to be a part of one of their Halloween memories! I will do the same and go out of my way to make sure your children never feel they are lacking in any way!
