More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I was a daycare teacher for over year in a 2- 2.5 year old class. I currently have a few families I still babysit for date nights/ special occasions.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
With toddlers I enjoy doing lots of art and crafts and screen-free activities, because they explore/learn best through play. Including: clothespin color match, dancing to all the toddler sing-a-long songs for active play, take a walk on a hunt for colors, play dough with dry spaghetti, tracing numbers, counting games, having a weekly “art project”, story time daily where I am
Inner active with the kids throughout reading the book, a weekly focus on a different letter and a color, playing doctor with dolls, kicking a ball back and forth, red light green light, planting succulents “gardening”, water games, imaginative play (dress up/ super hero’s/ baby dolls/ hot wheels race’s) music time etc.

The most important part about being a nanny...
Providing a safe environment for kids to feel comfortable so they are able to grow and learn at the best to their individual potential. To have a daily routine. To have patience and always know kids are little sponges!
My experience with special needs children...
I have minimum experience with children with special needs. What I do have is my daughter was delayed in her speech, she had to go to speech therapy, but with dad and I being persistent with learning she can count to 20, as well as can identify all of her numbers, colors, animals, animal noises and letters since she was a little over two. She is also potty trained. Also, for the infants, younger one’s/not as verbal toddlers, I exercise sign language like “eat” “more” and “all done” which helps with baby frustrations & communication skills!
The most important part about being a nanny...
There was this kid in my class who was just frustrated and would frequently act out, but in my opinion he was misunderstood (it is hard being two lol) because he was so sweet and thoughtful. One day when he was getting upset, I did what I always did, got to his level, helped him calm down, gave him a hug and a solution. And then the next day at class he (& his mom) brought me a thank you card and he drew me a picture, telling me thank you for always be so nice miss Meggan. He promised not to throw his toys anymore. Another favorite is when I nannied and we planted a succulent together and the first time the little girl noticed growth, she was so proud of herself and explained to her parents how the sun & water helped the plant grow!
