Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have raised my own Son who now has his own family and business.
I also kept his son for the first year of his life so the parents could work,
I did all tasks, feeding, changing, sterilizing, making homemade baby food. And everything in-between. We played we learned, and we loved! it was such a wonderful time!

Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Depending on their age of course, if they are babies I love to take them on short walks, in or out of the house and sing to them and show them colors, textures, plants, and make up funny stories. As they grow use educational toys to help them learn, and still walk and turn it into an adventure where they show me what they find!
As the get older play with them on their favorite toys and games, so I can see how there motor skills are developing and what they enjoy and why. Later play sports with them or have tea parties. No matter what the age always telling them they are important and can do and be anything they set their minds to.

The most important part about being a nanny...
Building trust and love with the child and being patient with them while they get used to me. Children are cautious by nature and will let others in slowly. As they do except their love and build on it.
Parents will be even more cautious, as they should be, so I will be the one being on trial for awhile, and that's no problem, I will be the same from day one as from then on. Loving and doing what is asked of me.

My experience with special needs children...
While I don't have any experience with special needs children, I am sure that the first rule would be to show love and have unending patience. The rest I would follow the parents directions.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite moment was teaching my 5month old grandson how to tip up his cup to get more water out of it. He would get upset and throw the cup when he thought it was empty. So as we worked together and he saw how to lift it, and then he saw he could do it on his own, he raised up his arms and started laughing and smiling!! He felt so good about it!!
