A little bit about me

Hello! I am a 40 year old women who recently moved to the area with my husband. We were unable to have children of our own which has been difficult, but we are learning to enjoy the increased lifestyle freedom and flexibility. That being said, I have ALWAYS enjoyed caring and interacting with children.

I have realized that childcare and helping to guide and mentor the next generation is something that is missing in my life and would bring me great personal and professional satisfaction. I babysat for 3 years while in high school and have 2 adorable nephews that I absolutely love and cherish.

I am Registered Nurse by trade, and am currently certified in adult/ child/ infant CPR and first aid. It is my desire to make childcare a new profession and would love to hear from you. My schedule is very flexible and can start ASAP!

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love exploring and being outdoors. This can include nature walks, scavenger hunts, playing at a local playground, bike riding, going to the park/pool etc.
I also an a huge advocate of reading so I would enjoy reading to or alongside your little one. Any arts and craft activities are also great and helps develop a child's creativity.
Also enjoy playing games, puzzles and building forts!

My experience with special needs children...

Worked over the summer as a counselor for children/ adults with autism and other developmental delays at the Richmond ARC (Chesterfield, VA). Although I mostly worked with the adult population, I completed a pediatric rotation in nursing school that exposed me to children with significant mental and/or physical disabilities.
