More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have experience working with kids from ages 2 up to 17. I currently work part-time at Trivium Charter School in Goleta as a teacher assistant. My responsibilities there are to support teachers and students in the classroom with whatever they need. This could be working one-on-one, running activities, etc. I also have three summers of experience volunteering at my local elementary school, working with primary kinder to fourth-grade students. I assisted them in the classroom with their reading, writing, and math skills. I ran small groups playing education games and doing art projects. I also helped put on an end-of-summer school play! I also worked with the YMCA as a Group Leader for their summer school program. I created lesson plans including math, reading, STEM, and outside activities. I love working with kids and seeing them grow to become confident and thrive in whatever they put their minds to!
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love doing art projects with kids and playing outside games with them. One of my favorite art projects is making collages with cut-up pieces of colorful paper. Another favorite is making jellyfish with different stands of paper and material. I'm also looking for other ways to get creative and have fun. Some of my favorite outdoor activities to do with kids are red-light-green lights, hopscotch, and little scavenger hunts.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part of being a nanny is making sure the kids are happy. I love to have fun with kids and do all sorts of different activities to keep them occupied and happy. I also like finding out what they enjoy and planning stuff more centered around that. Creating a positive and fun environment is so important when being in a kid's life. My goal is always to make sure they are safe, happy, and feel supported.
My experience with special needs children...
I have experience working with special needs students one-on-one in the classroom. I mainly support them with reading, writing, and understanding topics.
The most important part about being a nanny...
One of my favorite moments of working with kids was doing Just Dance. I put on a Just Dance video from YouTube, and we all danced to the silly moves on the screen. I'm not the best dancer, so it was really fun watching the kids do so much better than me. They had a fun time getting creative with the moves and getting really into the song and choreography.
