The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite moment in childcare was the last day of my second year as a summer camp counselor. The kids were refusing to say goodbye, holding tight hugs (for minutes long) or laying on the ground while their parents arrived. It made me realized that all kids, including those who are typically antisocial or that have to be disciplined often, are appreciative. They understand that you want the best for them and are grateful for your effort, even when you have to be authoritative sometimes. It was a validating moment and also a wholesome one.
