A little bit about me

From the time I was old enough, I was involved in making a difference in children's lives. My passion for it is evident, and it comes so natural to me. My mom did foster care for emergency receiving babies from the time I was 11-15, and I helped her care for them and give them love to nurture them.Most of them were drug exposed newborns that we went on to find adoptive homes for within our community. I was young, but matured and was awoken on the responsibilities it takes to care for a child. I was then hired as a nanny at 16 to take care of 2 toddlers who's mom was a flight attendant. At 18, I began working in a home day care, with ages 0-3. I taught preschool ready activities, led educational programs, nurtured their spirits and minds and helped regulate and run a safe daycare under the support of my boss and owner, who had been doing it for 30 something years. She taught me everything she had learned through the years, and unfortunately retired this summer leaving me out of work!

I have 8 siblings, some who are still younger than 10 years, and being very family forward, every aspect of my life has had to do with caring for children. It never was a side job for me, just something I was passionate about and got to do everyday.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love going to the beach, doing crafts and creating imaginative games w your kids that get those childhood wonder juices flowing.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Once you take care of a child for long enough, the security and comfort you can bring to a child, regardless of what is going on in their home or family. Being able to make them feel loved and less anxious with your presence is just such a special thing to me to acquire in my relationships with my kids I have worked with.

The most important part about being a nanny...

when I attended a wedding as a nanny, of a child I had the honor of caring for since he was born. The parents were finally getting married, and I got to chase the 3 yr old ring bearer around, help him walk down the aisle, and entertain him for pictures.
