A little bit about me

I am a 53-year-old grandmother of five and a mother of three daughters, living in Palm Beach County. While I have not been formally paid as a caregiver, I have a lifetime of experience caring for both children and adults. I am currently a caregiver for my 97-year-old grandmother, who is very independent, allowing me the flexibility and availability to support others while remaining attentive to her needs.
I am laid-back, easy-going, and naturally positive, always looking for the good in people and situations. I strongly believe that children and adults thrive when they are nurtured, respected, and treated with patience and kindness. My background in human resource management, combined with my work in nonprofit organizations and volunteer experience with Healthy Mothers Healthy Babies, has strengthened my communication skills, compassion, and ability to support individuals from all walks of life. I genuinely enjoy helping others and creating a calm, caring, and supportive environment.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I currently volunteer for an organization called Healthy Mothers Healthy Babies. I mentor a teenage mom.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

For children ages two to three, I focus on learning through play while creating a calm, structured, and nurturing environment.

Activities include reading picture books, singing songs, and engaging in simple conversations to support language development.

I encourage to use their motor skills through playdough, puzzles, coloring, and stacking activities, while gross motor skills are developed through movement, dancing, music, outdoor play, and simple obstacle courses.

Sensory activities such as water play, texture exploration, and hands-on discovery help support emotional regulation and curiosity.

I also emphasize social and emotional development through pretend play, turn-taking, naming feelings, and helping with simple routines like cleaning up toys.

My approach is patient, consistent, and developmentally appropriate, allowing children to learn at their own pace while feeling safe, supported, and engaged.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of the most important things about being a nanny, for me, is building a strong sense of trust and emotional safety with the children I care for. I understand how important it is for children to feel secure, loved, and supported, especially when they are away from their parents. I bring patience, consistency, and a calm presence into each day, and I genuinely take the time to connect with each child as an individual. Knowing that a child feels comfortable, understood, and happy in my care is what I value most, and it’s something I take great pride in providing to both the children and their families.

My experience with special needs children...

I have two special-needs grandchildren. I have a two year-old grandson that is a level one autistic no nonverbal thus far but very hopeful.

And his brother, my other grandson is four. He’s a level three autistic and he is also nonverbal.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Awww One of my sweetest nanny moments happened during nap time. I had tucked the toddler in, read a short story, and was quietly heading out when I felt a tiny hand grab my finger.

With sleepy eyes, she whispered, “You stay too.” I sat beside the bed for a moment, and she reached over, patted my arm, and fell right asleep. It was such a simple moment, but it reminded me how much comfort, trust, and security children find in consistency and gentle care.
