I am a mother of two college-aged children with years of experience caring for special needs children. I am very patient with children with behavioral needs and creative when it comes to entertaining children.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I like to first observe the children to see their mannerisms which will tell me how to approach their learning and behavior. Once I have established a relationship, I would then bring and/or use appropriate learning toys and activities to feed their mind

Both my children had specific learning needs, occupation, and speech problems growing up. Throughout the years I collected numerous learning materials to properly educate them and find solutions to help them progress. I am proud to say that both children are now in college making great grades and with no further issues.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important thing to keep in mind when providing nanny services is to understand that not every child interacts the same. It can take one day, or months to trust and want to allow you into their personal space. They may act out because they don't know you, and might have had other nannies quite because of their behavior. Changes to some other kids create trauma.

My experience with special needs children...

Both my children held IEPs growing up and would receive therapy in school as well as outside services I paid out of pocket. During that time I collected numerous learning materials and the proper approach to teaching and interacting with special needs children.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite nanny moment was when I briefly provided sitting services for Shapes fitness. Normally children have basic toys, some not in their age category. One day I decided to bring my radio and age-appropriate toys. Those older kids had a blast that day, and their parents were so happy and grateful that I made their experience fun.
