The most important part about being a nanny...

The most significant part about being a nanny is creating a relationship where the child feels safe, seen, and cared for. When the child being taken care of feels safe, play becomes richer, routines become smoother, and big feelings are more manageable. A nanny isn't just a supervisor but shows up consistently and shows warmth, turning every moment into laughter and fun.

My experience with special needs children...

I have experience working with children on the autism spectrum in my toddler classroom, as well as personal experience with family members on the spectrum, all of whom present with varying levels of support needs.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I haven't been a nanny, but it's tricky to choose a single favorite moment from my time as a teacher because so many experiences have brought me happiness. One moment that truly stayed with me happened during Epilepsy Awareness month. I created a small display with purple butterflies and accessories, shared a child-friendly book about having seizures at school, and helped organize a GoFundMe for a community member receiving from surgery. A 4-5 year old asked questions and a lot of curiosity. The next day, she came in with all her chore and tooth fairy money to donate. That moment reminded me of how capable children are of empathy.
