Hello, my name is Mikayah, though many people just call me Kiyah. I’m a nursing student currently, I used to work as an Aftercare Teacher at a Christian School in Boca Raton. I have five god-children—whom I’ve helped raised. I really enjoy fun activities, and making children’s childhoods fun and memorable. I genuinely enjoy working with kids — being someone they can laugh with, learn from, and confide in. I’m a student nurse—i’ve worked as an Aftercare Counselor/Teacher, a Mentor at an elementary school and I’ve also Volunteered as a Teacher Assistant at another elementary school. I also babysat my five god kids occasionally from infants to ten years old.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy arts and crafts, where we can paint, draw, make bracelets, or create little projects together. I also really enjoy sports and outdoor play — anything that gets their energy out and lets them have fun.
Calm activities and table games are great too, like puzzles, board games, reading time, or building with Legos. I also love doing science experiments and STEM activities, because it’s fun watching kids get excited about how things work. And of course, playground games are always a favorite — tag, four square, swinging on the swings or just exploring the play structures together.

The most important part about being a nanny...

To me, it’s safety and being attentive. Paying attention is extremely important — not only can you learn a lot about a child’s likes and dislikes just by observing them, but you can also prevent accidents before they happen. Being fully present helps you notice the small things—when they’re getting tired, when they’re overwhelmed, when they need space, or when they need a little extra comfort.
Attentiveness also builds a trust. Kids feel safer when they know you’re genuinely watching, listening, and responding to their needs. It allows you to guide them better, set boundaries with care, and create an environment where they feel supported and understood.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my favorite moment is taking my two goddaughters to see the Christmas lights at Butterfly World. Every year, we drive through with the windows cracked, the car full of excitement from the soft glow if the lights, and Christmas carols playing in the background.
My heart honestly leaps with joy watching how happy they get — pointing at every light, singing along to the music, and just living in that pure, childlike excitement. It’s such a simple moment, but it reminds me why I love caring for kids—their joy is real, unfiltered, and contagious.
