Hi! My name is Mikayla, and I’m currently a college student studying Marketing at Northern Illinois University. I love working with kids and have experience babysitting, tutoring, and volunteering with younger children. In the past, I tutored two elementary school students after school for about a year, and I’ve also volunteered with younger kids (ages 3–5) helping them explore music and instruments. I’ve also led choir sectionals, which helped me develop patience, leadership, and communication skills.

These experiences taught me how to be patient, adaptable, and attentive while supporting kids in both structured and creative environments.

The most important part about being a nanny is creating a safe, supportive, and positive environment for the children. I think it’s important for kids to feel comfortable, listened to, and encouraged while they learn and grow. Building trust with both the children and the parents is also really important, and I always try to be responsible, patient, and attentive so everyone feels confident that the kids are in good hands.
