While I have no professional training or experience, growing up with a single mother meant I played a large role in helping raise my younger brother (he is a type one diabetic so I am well versed in what it takes to aid in caring for this particular illness and willing to learn and accommodate for others). She works full time as a social worker so taking care of others is in my blood. I am patient, understanding, and willing to indulge new experiences. I am a perceptive, quick learner and I like to challenge myself. I can take rejection pretty well and am willing to participate in the trial and error process.

I love art! With younger children this isn’t as easy but I have lots of supplies and I really enjoy bringing out creativity. I also like reading and storytelling so I’m great at playing along. I am able bodied and fairly healthy so sports are not something I’m opposed to but definitely not something I’m knowledgeable about

The most important part about being a nanny...

I value perspective so I believe in understanding being vital in everything. I play the caretaker, not the parent. I am not a disciplinarian but if there are rules you need enforced I will happily accommodate to your likings even if I don’t necessarily agree. It’s not my place to tell you how to raise your kids and I don’t want to act like it is! Beyond that, patience and honesty is probably the most important part of dealing with children. I want them to understand why I do and say what I do and I have no problem answering questions.
