My name is Miranda Tsang. I am a 32 year-old nanny with 11 years of childcare experience. I have experience caring for infants to teenagers through nanny/mother's helper positions, respite care, after school care programs, and as an aide for special needs at a school district. I'm very creatively inclined in that I play the guitar, I'm very artsy when it comes to crafting and drawing, and love to be outdoors. I'm very loving, nurturing, organized, diligent, prompt, trustworthy, responsible, and reliable. I am CPR/First Aid certified through the American Heart Association, have a clean driving record, and clean background check. I'm comfortable with: light housekeeping/laundry, simple meal prep, providing homework help, and doing fun science/arts and crafts activities. More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I've worked for three different after school programs including the Aliso Elementary School All Stars Program, Boys and Girls Club, and Ocala Play Academy. I was an after school facilitator K-5, did summer programming in the K-2nd childcare program, and was a camp counselor for a teen film camp through Boys & Girls Club. I was also a substitute and later permanent Instructional Assistant III for special needs elementary school and high school youth for a school district.

I even volunteered as a part of my student teaching ECE course as a Kindergarten Teacher's Aide for almost a year and was a Teacher's Aide in high school for an Intermediate Dance class and Physical Science and Biology classes.

I have over 12 units of ECE credits from college and a transcripts to prove it. I have also been a career nanny since 2017.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

With older children, I enjoy playing outdoors at the park/backyard, jumping on trampoline, building forts, jump rope, hula hoops, riding bikes, scooters, chalk, sand/water play, science and arts/crafts projects, coloring, watching Disney movies, nursery rhymes, hand clap games, puppet shows, reading, imaginary play, dress up, dance parties, and playing guitar and singing.

For infants, tummy time with toys, bouncing on a yoga ball to help calm/soothe, singing/humming, nursery rhymes, and playing calm music.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I love being a nanny and caring for youth as the most rewarding part is being able to form close relationships/bonds with the children and their families on a more individualized and personalized level. It's rewarding to help children as they are our future. Families have such busy lives with supporting their households day in and day out. I love to provide added support and become a part of the family. It's always amazing when I get to meet extended family members as well. I love the exchange of learning that takes place between children and their caregivers.

My experience with special needs children...

I began as a substitute Instructional Assistant III for the
Carpinteria Unified School District (CUSD). I helped teach the 3rd-5th grade SDC. I assisted other aides and certificated staff to encourage the integration of elementary school & high school students into instructional and social activities. I physically assisted students with tasks including writing, using the bathroom, transitioning from one classroom to another. I would help students with assignments that proved to be challenging. Moreover, I worked with other staff members to foster a safe, positive and supportive learning environment.

I also have experience with respite care for a 17 year-old girl with partial blindness, hydrocephalus, and cerebral palsy. I also have experience caring for an 8 year-old boy through respite with Downs Syndrome. I worked after school with an 11 year-old girl who had Chromosome Micro-Deletion and ADHD.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I've had so many with various families and their children. But, my most favorite was taking all three of the girls I just cared for to the beach and lunch in Santa Barbara before I moved to FL. Potty training the youngest girl was also a huge moment for me as I would make it fun with nursery rhymes and potty songs.
