A little bit about me

I am an outgoing person that is curious about the natural world. I have a passion for human development and early childhood education. I love reading, writing poetry, taking photographs, hiking, biking, kayaking, camping, cooking, listening to music and dancing. I am a certified Montessori teacher. I worked as the lead teacher in the toddler classroom at Juneau Montessori School in Juneau, Alaska. I loved objectively observing 12 toddlers and adjusting the classroom to fit their individual developmental needs. When Covid closed the school, I thoroughly enjoyed working as a nanny with two children. The flexibility in our schedule and time spent outdoors was invigorating. Working as a photo naturalist guide in Juneau gave me a passion for outdoor education. I have always had a passion for children and am excited to have the two worlds collide.
