My experience with special needs children...

In my hometown, Vacaville, CA, I was an active member of an organization called TEAM Vacaville. This was a nonprofit volunteer program where teens like myself would pair up with special needs children and be their buddy through events and activities. I worked with a variety of special needs but my main buddy was nonverbal and I was able to use my knowledge of sign language to communicate. This program and all the special needs kids I’ve had the opportunity to work with hold a special place in my heart!
