The most important part about being a nanny...
To me, the most important part of being a nanny is building a relationship based on trust, with both the children and their parents. Children thrive when they feel safe, understood, and supported, so I strive to create an environment where they feel comfortable being themselves while also learning, growing, and having fun. Equally important is earning parents' confidence by communicating openly, being dependable, and caring for their children as if they were my own. At the end of the day, I want families to feel at ease knowing their children are not only safe, but genuinely happy, engaged, and loved while they're in my care.
My experience with special needs children...
I have worked with children with Autism at The Growing Place and at 549 Sports.
The most important part about being a nanny...
One of my favorite moments as a caregiver happened while I was working with a toddler who had always been very shy and hesitant to join group activities. Every day, I would sit with them during art time, talking about colors, animals, and whatever sparked their interest, never pushing them to participate before they were ready. After a few weeks, they walked over on their own, took my hand, and proudly showed me the painting they had made with the other children. Seeing their confidence grow and knowing I had helped create a space where they felt safe enough to try something new was incredibly rewarding. It's moments like these that remind me that childcare isn't just about keeping children safe, it's about building trust, celebrating small milestones, and helping them believe in themselves.

Babysitter Available in Portland, OR: Brianna G.
My name is Brianna, I’ve been working with kids for about 4 years but I have 2 years of paid childcare. I’m very familiar with making crafts for kids, accommodating to kids needs, preparing light snacks, helping kids with their homework, and doing clean up. I am a college student so there are only certain days I can work due to my schooling schedule. Since I am in school I would like to do a bit of homework during down time while babysitting(during nap time or sleep time) if able to!

I have been a Leader In Training at summer and winter day and overnight camps at Trackers Earth for 4 years, where I have worked with grades K-9 outdoors. Additionally, over this summer I have been employed at Trackers Earth as Basecamp Support- leading and teaching for precamp and aftercamp (grades K-5). I have also done some volunteering work with my school's lower and middle school outdoor education programs, mostly belaying for rock climbing activities. I really enjoy working with children and am very interested in teaching and storytelling in particular. I am creative, fun, practical, and patient. Thanks so much!
