A little bit about me

Hello! My name is Monroe Geiger, and I'm excited for the opportunity to work with your family. I love spending time with kids and being someone they can trust while having fun. Outside of work and school, I enjoy hiking, ranching, paddle boarding, staying active, and I'm currently attending Utah State University, where I'm pursuing a degree in Animal and Dairy Science. This summer, I cared for a 14-year-old girl during an LDS Young Women's camp, where she was under my full supervision. I also regularly care for an 8-year-old family friend with special needs. These experiences have strengthened my patience, adaptability, and confidence in caring for children. I love working with kids of all ages because each one has a unique personality, and I strive to create a safe, supportive, and fun environment where they can learn and grow.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I was in charge of a 13 year old with Down syndrome for 3 days at a young women's camp. I was her full-time care giver during this time and help her during church. I have watched majority of the neighborhood kids. I was also in nursery for a year in my church. These babies are 18 months-3 years old.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love spending time outside finding new adventures in the yard, sprinklers, walks, tag, etc. I love spending time inside as well seeing what they love (there favorite toys, games, etc). To go along with this, I am an advocate for teaching while playing. I have a couple clean up games so your house will always look better than when I came.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part is always going to be safety. If everyone is safe, making sure the children are having fun, being kind, and learning. I think this is a happy medium between gentle parenting and not. I love to incorporate both so children understand that there are rules that need to be established while also understanding there creative minds point of view.

My experience with special needs children...

I was able to take classes every trimester during high school. With these courses you take care of the students with special needs, while also doing at home studies to learn: why special needs think they way they do and how to help them improve. I have worked with many special needs children. I watch a 13 year old girl with Down syndrome at my church. I was her full time care-taker at girls camp. My best friends little sister have non-verbal disabilities, I will help take care of her as well.
