A little bit about me

Hello! My name is Monserrat, I’m a full time speech language graduate student at the University of Texas at Austin. I have been babysitting since I was 17, and I love the bonds I have built with the families and children. I love to go to the park, and go on walks when it’s not too hot outside. One of my favorite activities I do with the children I babysit is reading and singing sometimes even dancing. I love to connect with them through fun games or activities they enjoy like painting or drawing. I like to make it fun for them because if they are having fun so am I. Lastly I would like to add I’m fluent in Spanish, and I love to communicate in Spanish with the children I care for.

I have experience in various fields of child care. I have worked in a daycare, after school programs, and most recently I was a nanny for 2 years to 2 different families.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Respect is my number one priority as well as the wellbeing of the kids I babysit, I want to influence these kids in the most positive way I can. I want to make sure they learn something during the few hours we spend together even if that is just to be kind and respectful. Another big thing for me is making sure they are having a good time, I’m there to make a great connection with them and hopefully at the end of the day I’ll leave with a new friend.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my favorite nanny moments was when I got to see the little girl i nannied for become an older sister and then I got to nanny for her and her sister. I adore both of them, and I love the cute nickname they gave me. I definitely felt like I was part of the family and that meant a lot to me. Love seeing her grow and learn new things everyday!
