A little bit about me

Hi, I'm Mo! I'm a college student studying Political Science and Data Science at UNC Charlotte. I've spent the last 4 years working with kids in active, hands-on settings. For over three years, I've worked as a counselor at YMCA Camp Kanata, where I've supervised and mentored campers ages 5-16. I plan activities, manage groups, and handle the day-to-day responsibility of keeping kids safe, engaged, and having fun ,while also helping them build confidence and try new things.

I'm a certified lifeguard through the American Red Cross, with CPR and First Aid training, so I'm comfortable and prepared around water and in emergency situations. Alongside my camp work, I've held program counselor roles supervising teens in residential settings, which has given me experience balancing structure and fun, setting clear expectations, and staying calm under pressure.
