A little bit about me

I am 20 years old. I have been working in paid and volunteer childcare since the age of 11. From babysitting to working in an AFC home with ranges in mental abilities and ages (sometimes violent) along with being a CNA, I have a wide range of experiences in ages, personalities, disabilities, etc. I am someone who has a cat and a dog, as well as a guinea pig so animal care is never an issue either. I have recently been working in Kalamazoo as a cleaning technician so I am also able to help out in the housekeeping area!

The most important part about being a nanny...

Being able to offer a sense of security to parent and child along with building trust and a relationship to the families. As someone who has worked in the healthcare field, I have seen so many families worried about the care their children, parents, grandparents, etc are receiving. Parents want to know their children are being care for just as well or as close as possible to as if they were right there doing it. Trying to provide that trust and security is so important to me!

I have experience with children ranging from low behaviors to high risky/violent behaviors. I have been properly trained on how to handle these situations.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The moment that comes later on, is the time when you feel the connection growing. You can feel the people you are caring for begin to trust you, it is such an amazing thing to see because children need a sense of security and I am always happy to offer that!
