My experience with special needs children...
I have cared for a 7 year old with a cognitive impairment with toileting needs, teacher assisted in a 5th and 6th grade classroom for students with learning disabilities and I student taught in a high school classroom for students with cognitive impairments. I was also a link in high school (peer mentor program) and volunteered at my high school's extended school year program. I have worked with individuals with cognitive impairments, emotional impairments, specific learning disabilities, other health impairments and individuals on the autism spectrum.
