Hi, My name is Myra and I’m currently a sophomore at UMBC. I’ve been working with children since I was 15 years old and I grow to love it more and more each day. My first time working with children was when I volunteered with my mom teaching Sunday School at my church. From then on, my passion for working with children has grown in ways I never would have imagined. I am lifeguard, first aid, cpr and aed certified. I enjoy helping children with schoolwork, preparing meals, finding new fun ways to keep the children engaged and keeping things clean. In my free time I enjoy bullet journaling, swimming, and reading books.

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

Through my HighSchool’s NHS chapter I got to volunteer with a local MOPS group where I was a assistant watching over children 4 and under. I volunteered with this group on a biweekly bases for almost two years.
I also had a semester long internship working as a TA at an early learning center for children 2-5.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Taking them to the park/playground, going on walks when the weather is nice, listening to music that they can sing and dance to, playing fun games, reading books, teaching them new skills that they can apply to their day to day life, making simple daily tasks fun.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Is to make a positive impact on the child and family’s life, being apart of the child’s growing and developing process while also being a positive role model for them. Looking after the child and supporting them as if they were your own.

My experience with special needs children...

While at my internship I got the opportunity I had many experiences working with children with difference disabilities all over the spectrum. I assisted them with daily tasks such as classwork assignments, playtime, bathroom breaks and putting them down for nap times.
