More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
My relevant experience caring for children comes from both my professional healthcare background and hands-on caregiving roles. As a caregiver, I have supported individuals with daily routines, personal care, and maintaining a safe environment, skills that directly apply to caring for children. I am experienced in being attentive to individual needs, following structured routines, and ensuring safety at all times.
In addition, I have experience engaging children in activities, providing emotional support, and creating a calm and positive environment. My background has taught me patience, responsibility, and strong observation skills, which help me respond quickly and appropriately to children’s needs.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I enjoy engaging children in a variety of activities that support their development and keep them entertained. This includes reading stories, arts and crafts, outdoor play, and age-appropriate educational games. I also like encouraging creativity through drawing, music, and imaginative play. I make sure activities are both fun and safe while helping children build confidence, social skills, and independence.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part of being a nanny is ensuring the child’s safety while building a trusting, nurturing relationship. Children need to feel secure, understood, and supported in order to grow and thrive. I believe it’s also important to be consistent, patient, and attentive to each child’s individual needs. In addition, maintaining clear communication with parents is essential so we can work as a team to support the child’s development and well-being.
My experience with special needs children...
Through my caregiving and healthcare experience, I have developed strong skills in supporting children with special needs. I am attentive to behavioral cues, patient with communication challenges, and consistent with routines. I am comfortable assisting with personal care, monitoring safety, and working closely with families to follow care plans. My goal is always to provide compassionate, respectful care while helping the child feel confident and supported.
The most important part about being a nanny...
One of my favorite moments was when a child I was caring for was very shy and had difficulty adjusting at first. I took time to build trust through patience, consistency, and engaging activities they enjoyed. Over time, I saw a big change, they became more confident, started expressing themselves more, and even looked forward to our time together. Seeing that growth and knowing I made a positive impact was very rewarding for me.

Part-Time Nanny Available in Portland, ME: Hannah H.
Hi there! I just ended my nannying time with a family who have 2 boys - one 3 and the other 6 years old. Unfortunately, the boys schedules won’t provide the hours I need with them being in full-time summer camp now, so I’m looking for a new family that I can be with long term. We have a great bond and I have a letter of recommendation if you'd like. I love children and have some years beyond my paid experience. I was a ballet instructor for ages 4-9 and previously was a step-mom for 3 years. I’m very good with pets as well. I have a background in the holistic industry as a Licensed Massage Therapist, Polarity/Reiki Practitioner and current Sound Healer. I'm from Falmouth and can navigate driving around Maine well. Ideally, I would love to help with drop offs and pick ups for school, activities/camp and then help around the house in-between to fill in hours - laundry, grocery shopping, dishes, errands etc. Please reach out if you'd like to know more and see if we'd be a good fit!
