The most important part about being a nanny is not just caring for the child but building a relationship with them. A lot of times kids/pre-teens dislike nanny’s because they see it as a job, while I think of it as a bonding experience! No kid will want a nanny who they don’t like so I think it’s very important to bond with the child and get close to them! Let them see that you are there for them and will be there through out the journey we will have together.

When I was a babysitter for my baby cousin yarethzi she drew me a beautiful picture of myself (she’s 4 years old) and she drew a huge heart next to me and told me that that’s how much she loved me. She loved spending time with me! I almost cried when she gave that to me! I still have it on my wall to this day!
