More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
With over 30 years of hands-on experience, I am a dedicated care provider passionate about helping families thrive. My background includes operating a licensed in-home daycare while homeschooling my own children for 20+ years, providing long-term family childcare, supporting elderly family members for about a decade, and a period of in-home nanny care.
I am now returning to small-group, in-home family childcare in the 80923 area, where my experience and heart truly align. Care is provided in a warm, family-based setting with a strong focus on routine, emotional safety, and individualized attention. Children benefit from a multigenerational environment, offering the structure of an experienced primary caregiver along with the calm, nurturing presence of family-based care.
I genuinely love supporting children as they explore, learn, and grow. My goal is to create a steady, nurturing environment where children can flourish and parents can feel confident and supported.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love creating a calm, engaging day that’s built around play, creativity, and everyday learning.
I’m an artist at heart, so arts and crafts are a big favorite, and I could happily sit on the couch and read book after book with kids. I enjoy Montessori-style, hands-on learning and naturally weave little learning moments into the day through play, conversation, and routines — something that comes from years of homeschooling my own children.
I also enjoy getting outside for walks, park time, or library visits (with parent permission), and keeping days balanced, relaxed, and enriching.

The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part of being a caregiver is truly respecting the responsibility and trust families place in you. Caring for a child is a huge responsibility, and it’s not something I ever take lightly. My goal is always to provide thoughtful, safe, and nurturing care — the kind of care I would want for my own children and family.
My experience with special needs children...
I have hands-on experience caring for children with ADHD and children on the autism spectrum through my own family. Two of my grandchildren have severe ADHD and are on the lower end of the autism spectrum, and I was their full-time caregiver for several years while their mother worked. I continue to care for them regularly and understand the importance of patience, consistency, and meeting each child where they are. While my experience has been family-based rather than clinical, I am very attentive, adaptable, and committed to learning the specific needs of each child in partnership with parents.
The most important part about being a nanny...
It’s impossible to pick just one favorite moment after 30+ years of caregiving. While I’ve enjoyed fun outings and special experiences, it’s really the little everyday moments that light me up — a child learning a new word, finally figuring out a tricky toy, or watching their confidence grow day by day. Those small victories are what make this work so rewarding.
I genuinely love what I do and feel incredibly grateful to spend my days learning, playing, and growing right alongside the children in my care.

Live-In Part-Time Nanny Available in Colorado Springs, CO: Shadra M.
Hi! I’m Shadra (or Shad), I’m 19 and a student at West Texas A&M University. I’ll be home for the summer and am looking to help families who need a reliable, positive babysitter!
I have a bubbly, upbeat personality and love creating a fun, safe environment where kids feel comfortable and entertained. I’ve been babysitting for years, starting with younger cousins and family friends and continuing through high school and college breaks.
I have experience with children as young as 6 months old and am comfortable caring for multiple kids (typically 1–3, up to 4). I’m used to keeping kids on routines (if needed) while also making sure they’re having fun with crafts, outdoor play, meals, and games.
I’m reliable, patient, and attentive, and I have several families who would be happy to provide references. While I’m not CPR certified, I am very safety-conscious and always prioritize the well-being of the children in my care.
I’d love to help your family this summer!
