One time, I hosted a “Chore Olympics” with the kids (6 year old boy and 3 year old girl) where the prize was ice cream. The youngest was struggling to keep up, so the oldest started handing her toys to put away so she could feel included. At first, she resisted, but after glancing at the ice cream, she happily accepted his help. It was such a sweet and funny moment!
Kids are always doing things like this, and it reminds me how important it is to get down on their level and see the world the way they do.
