A little bit about me

My name is Claire(24) and I moved to Michigan from Atlanta in Dec of 2021 with my partner and our sweet dog! My childcare experience dates as far back as 2011 when I began watching my 3 year old sister and her friends. Since then I've dedicated my time to volunteering at my old preschool, part time nannying in high school, working at a chain of daycares back in Georgia, as well as having the privilege of joining some families through full time nannying!

I have been CPR and First Aid certified though they recently expired.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

A pool day in the summer is my favorite activity! Especially when we bring popsicles and sandwiches!! I also have been enjoying going to Belle Isle and nature trails with my current child!
In the winter I've found activities like museums, the library, and indoor parks are a great way to spend the day!
At home, I like to find lots of creative outlets for my young friends! Reusing boxes, making chalk paint, and having bubble blowing contests are just a few ways we can have fun!

The most important part about being a nanny...

I have two priorities as a care giver- the first being safety and the latter being happiness. At the end of the day, I can only hope that I kept my young friend safe and gave them something to laugh about!

My experience with special needs children...

I have watched a young boy (5) with severe autism for a little over 6 months and had the pleasure of teaching a young girl (4) with severe autism in one of the day cares I worked at!

The most important part about being a nanny...

I really enjoy all the time I spend with the kids I watch. I love building relationships with the kids I've watched and seeing how they've grown. A kid I grew up watching is graduating from high school this year and we still keep in touch!
